Confirmed that this works upstream, fixed in r2354. Sorry for noise,
seems like the only problem is a bit old package, so 8.04 should fix
everything.

Exclamation marks are only for the default profile, this bug is about
the sh-profile. This is not an upsteam problem, afaik. Even the ipython
manual mentions the use of apt-get with tab-completing package names.
See example from Debian sid, with default settings of ipython:
~$ ipython -p sh
IPytho
You will need to use the single or double exclamation mark trick there.
I don't thin ubuntu should break ipythons behaviour and try to fix this
by essentially breaking the syntax rules. If you want this 'fix' to
happen, please ask the iPython developers. I will open an upstream task
for this bug.
