I receive info for installing updates to 7.10, but if I start the distribution
upgrade, update-manager hangs at the described step.
Unfortunately, I've got this annoying problem in the upgrade process to Hardy
I have the exact same problem. I've tried from the update manager and
from the alternate CD (burned from the iso). It just locks after a few
seconds while in the first stage.

It's more usual to attach them one by one, so that each file is only one
click to view (rather than needing to download and open the zip file to
view any one of the three files).

Are you behind a network that is restricted in some way (i.e. a proxy or
something similar)? Does the normal update-manager works and do you get
the regular security updates?

You're welcome.
I use a normal DSL internet connection, no further firewall/proxy
installed. Proxy setting of the system (in System - Preferences -
Network-Proxy ist set to direct connection.
System updates through the Update-Manager come in regularly.

please attach those.
