Right, it's the same issue. I'm not convinced that dropping that lightdm
wrapper was a good idea, either it should be added back or each impacted
flavor needs to sort it out how they replace it (budgie did it but at
least cinnamon et xubuntu also need a similar fix)

I flagged a similar issues impacting Xubuntu earlier in the cycle where
where `/var/lib/snapd/desktop` isn't included in the path which makes
the .desktop from snaps not listed by the GUI
