Yeah Xorg *seems* to mostly work because recovery has been implemented
in mutter and gnome-shell for Xorg. But I wouldn't expect it to be
totally reliable.

Hi @vanvugt, I was wondering about that -- in bug 1876632 you mention
using xorg as poss. not affected, which is the reason I started using
it, incl. gdm
$ grep Wayland /etc/gdm3/custom.conf
WaylandEnable=false
Just a datapoint to consider.
