Public bug reported: Type: Crt monitor Model: ViewSonic G75f Graphic card: Nvidia GeForce 6100 (on board) Standard resolution: 1024x768 Maximum detected by: Ubuntu 800x600 Bug since: 6.10 (was working fine with earlier versions)
Comment: Everything look too big for this screen, usage as a learning tool in this computer science lab (85 of those monitor) is almost impracticable. We still use 6.06LTS release but want to upgrade. Is it possible to disable the maximum resolution for this monitor. It will be by default 1800 by ? (maximal resolution of the GeForce 6100 card) but it will be better than 800x600 because we will be able to adjust the resolution. It is possible after installing few packages and tweak xorg.conf to use 1024x768, but for a student, new to Linux, these tweak are not easy nor helping them to adopt Ubuntu as their primary operating system. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wrong resolution detection on ViewSonic G75f https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211815 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
