Since we are in feature freeze (see [1]), and the new upstream versions
add new features this must go through the FeatureFreezeException
process: see [2] for more information on that. If you feel that this is
sensible, please follow the steps listed at FeatureFreeze for new
upstream versions on
Please also note that we'll be in final freeze from next thursday on.
IMHO, it would be better to provide a patch for the most important
issues and get them into hardy in time.

i understand , however some important bug fixes where implemented after i
became the project driver , it would also be important to replace the older
version with the current stable release since it would help keep track of bugs
and exclude already fixed ones .
