The DBusException in call_blocking() was a combination of HAL being
late to start on boot and guidance -power-manager not tolerating that
well. I uploaded a fix so GPM will just wait for HAL to start. This
should solve this.

Well what ever it is my system is working quite well now, no crashes on
start up, (not showing last good boot in grub though)
Still having a little problem with the graphics, empty boxes where the
close, minimize and full screen icons should be.

Installing Python 3 is very unlikely to help.
I suspect this is a race condition where hal/dbus/guidance don't get started
in the right order sometimes.
