Yes. it was an upgrade from a gutsy installation (bootable cd version, not
alternate) to hardy beta.
The steps are very simple...
I wrote update-manager -d in the Run Application tool.
During the upgrade I got a few errors about the packages I mentioned and the
update-manager told me that it's
There isn't really a method to check the status of the upgrade.The fact
that you say everything is running fine and u-m reconfigured the
troublesome packages suggests it's probably safe to assume the upgrade
was succcessful. If it had failed in some way you'd probably have
noticed. I'll leave this

an upgrade from gutsy to Hardy beta correct. Could you describe the
steps you took performing the upgrade?
Bugs of this type tend to be hard to track down the cause. They often
