I have 2.6.24-14 here and sshfs can be easily crashed by doing a lot of things in parallel on the mounted filesystem, f.ex. doing a copy of a whole directory tree and pressing cat TABTAB (to make bash tabcomplete the names). That makes sshfs crash pretty consistently. Same architecture here:
