Okay, since we've not heard from Rocko, and since Jani reports not being
able to reproduce it on alpha-4, I think we can assume the issue is
fixed. If through further testing it's found not to be, feel free to
reopen, but make sure to include your /etc/X11/xorg.conf,
/var/log/Xorg.0.log, and ~/.xs
I have a somewhat similar experience; there seem to be multiple bugs
reported on Launchpad surrounding such issues (e.g. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-
intel/+bug/177492">#177492), but this one seems to come closest. I'm
on Hardy (fully updated), I'll attach my Xorg.0
Can you please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (it has some version and
model number info we will probably need).
