Public bug reported: Binary package hint: python-central
Background: Some time ago I read an article about terminator, with a download link. The download link turned out to be for the package in hardy/universe, and it would not install on gutsy because it depended on a newer python-central. I aborted/removed it (or so I thought.) I upgraded from gutsy to hardy on 7 April, using update-manager. At some point things started failing with a message like: "Could not install python-central: subprocess postinst returned error exit status 1" This caused a whole lot of other things to not install (gnome-panel etc) as they depended on python. I eventually completed the upgrade in a terminal. When I tried to upgrade python-central manually, it reported: "pycentral: pycentral pkginstall: package terminator is not installed". I installed terminator from universe, and then upgrading python-central succeeded - and I could install the failed packages and complete the upgrade to hardy. ** Affects: python-central (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- python-central postinst failed: terminator is not installed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/213906 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
