Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gparted
I have HP Pavilion dv5000 laptop. I tried to install Ubuntu 8.04 amd64 desktop BETA, but gparted don't see existing partitions. I have 3 windows partitions and 2 linux, from which one is swap partition. Gparted sees entire disk as an unpartitioned space. The only way to use 8.04 is as live cd. This is the output from fdisk:
:/home/ubuntu# fdisk -l Disk /dev/hda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes 255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes Disk identifier: 0xe41be41b Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 7248 58219528+ 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/hda2 8608 9598 7960207+ 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/hda4 7249 9729 19928632+ f W95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/hda5 7249 7382 1076323+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris /dev/hda6 7383 8607 9839781 83 Linux /dev/hda7 9599 9729 1052226 b W95 FAT32 Partition table entries are not in disk order
** Affects: gparted (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: gparted partition -- gparted don't see existing partitions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/214279 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
