OK, I got this working. I had to boot to a previous kernel, then put the output of "sudo vol_id -u /dev/hda1" in /etc/fstab, instead of /dev/hda1. I think this should have been taken care of automatically during the update. I didn't even know there was a 'vol_id' program, or that the UUID is now R
