There are two desktop files in the upstream version because it does not use
su-to-root.
I see no problem in the debian/ubuntu version combining these into a single
desktop file though.

That's right. The fdo menu spec should probably have a su wrapper which could be

Not quite sure what you mean by desktop files. Packages have multiple
files in them. I'm asking why there are two entries of the same program
in Add/Remove. Either it's not packaged properly or I am overlooking
something.

The problem is that startupmanager ships 2
I'll have a look at it and try to fix it in Debian unstable. Maybe after
that, it can be synced at Ubuntu Hardy.
