Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic
I installed Hardy Beta and then upgraded. The kernel was upgraded and the Update Manager prompted me to remove outdated packages, listing the 2.6.24-12 kernel. I clicked the button to remove and it appeared to do something. However, the outdated kernel is still present in the package manager, in /boot and in the boot loader screen. /var/log/dpkg.log shows no attempts to remove the outdated kernel.
