Title:
linux-image-2.6.24-14 sound from system very faint
To manage notifications
I now run:
Ubuntu 8.10 i386
I get audio with the Asus P5B motherboard.
In the Gnome Menu, the Sound control panel (System / Preferences /
Sound) offers a test button. I tested playback that way.
The working audio modules are:
HDA Intel AD198x Digital ALSA (Not Connected).
ALSA - Advanced
Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

I did an automatic upgrade on 20080430 of the packages.
The sound came back!
I cannot identify the packages related to this bug. I can play the
signal through the speakers. It is a bit weaker than before though.
