I can confirm this in Hardy:
$apt-cache policy gcalctool
gcalctool:
Installed: 5.22.1-0ubuntu1

My steps to reproduce:
1. Open gcalc
2. Click on the "Fun" button
3. "Edit Functions"
4. Enter "999" for the value of the 0 function.
5. Enter "test" in the description.
