this bug seems to be fixed, at least now my cd drive is found under dev
scd0 which fixes this whole issue.

After each fresh install I have to adjust manually the cdroms entry to match my
hardware.
The current drive is an IDE MultiNorm Burner from LG, I didn't check that with
SATA drives as I don't own one atm.
What further information do you need?
How can I get the exact name my cd/dvd-drive has?

This was caused by missdetection of my cd drive
in fact, th device is /dev/hda and noct /dev/scd0
so this was the mess
but it is a detection bug now...
