OMG, thank you. Because I did clean rc install, server defined in
software sources was local one for my region. As soon as I changed that
to main server I got 49 updates. -16-generic among them.
I had no idea that mirroring can create such a problem.

Well, I don't really see, what you mean:
# apt-cache show virtualbox-ose-modules-generic | grep ^Depends

Depends: linux-image-2.6.24-16-generic
(This is on a amd64 machine)
