The suggested do-release-upgrade -d did a complete upgrade, but after it, I was left with a completely broken system, with the kernel unable to see any of my partitions and every filesystem superblock corrupted. I don't know if this is because of the upgrade method or some other problem: bug

I've had this on 2 computers. On the computer I wanted to upgrade to 8.04, I had to follow the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HardyUpgrades: Press Alt+F2 and type sudo do-release-upgrade -d This then allowed me to do an upgrade through Adept. -- Kubuntu 7.10 to 8.04
