We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve
Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The
biggest one is that the MythTV developers have turned their efforts to newer
versions and and are no longer fixing bugs on this version of MythTV.
The Mythbuntu team
John, please let us know if you are still experiencing this issue.
Thank you.

I cannot answer Daniel's last question, I don't use mythtv. But I
thought I'd add here that virtualbox the keyboard does not work in a
virtualbox guest when scim was running on virtualbox startup (bug
217364). Maybe there is some common underlying issue?

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

is this a problem with scim in general or scim-anthy only? I've had
problems with scim-anthy when pinyin was fine.

This seems to work for me in KDE 3.5.
If there are indeed problems with other Qt applications as well, as
indicated by takamori, then this is probably a problem with scim.

In addition to editing the SCIM page I referenced earlier, I've added a
cross-ref from the Ubuntu/MythTV troubleshooting page
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV/FAQs
Unfortunately, I don't know enough to truly know whether this is a
cross-platform issue for MythTV or if it's
added workaround and cross-refs. I'm not sure if this should be re-
categorized as a bug against SCIM(ubuntu) for the Hardy release.

How do other QT apps react to SCIM being enabled there?

This is on the most recent version of mythtv-frontend in the 8.04 beta
that I am experiencing this.
