jel, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If

package manager searching for initscripts reinstall them.
It was the thing that worked for me after searching for about a month

The problem the dvd/cd player i can't read or play dvd/cd's with this
kernel, with the first Ubuntu Hardy kernel 2.6.24-12 i can play
dvd/cd's.

Here is a log of grep ata4 /var/log/messages
the problem also can be my second disk, i can hardly read something on this
disk. I takes much time to reach that disk, i will test if it is ok with the
other kernel, maybe reinstalling the kernel will fix the problem
