Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager-openvpn

When I installed network-manager-openvpn, I tried to connect to an
openvpn server using password authentication. When selecting the VPN
connection it asked for my password and after that it did nothing (no
errors, no connection, no tun device creation). With command line
openvpn I was able to connect without any problem.

Then I installed the packages network-manager-vpnc and network-manager-
pptp. After that I was able to connect to my openvpn server, without
modifying anything.

In the end, I removed network-manager-vpnc and network-manager-pptp
again and the openvpn connection (using NetworkManager) was still
working (even after rebooting and deleting-recreating the
configuration).

** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
