Public bug reported: Trying to make a dist-upgrade renders me troubles (log below!)
acpi can not create /sys/module/processor/parameters/max_cstate because /sys/module/processor/parameters is none existant (as shown below). [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/sys/module/processor# ls -la total 0 drwxr-xr-x 5 root root 0 2008-04-25 17:12 . drwxr-xr-x 128 root root 0 2008-04-25 17:31 .. drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2008-04-25 17:31 holders -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 2008-04-25 17:31 initstate drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2008-04-25 17:31 notes -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 2008-04-25 17:31 refcnt drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 2008-04-25 17:31 sections -r--r--r-- 1 root root 4096 2008-04-25 17:31 srcversion and trying to fool the scripts by issueing mkdir renders "cannot create directory `parameters': No such file or directory". I've been running Hardy repos for a while so it's not a clean dist-upgrade from gutsy but more or less so. my base version is kubuntu but that was back in feisty or so, shouldn't matter for this. ========= ON SCREEN LOG ========= [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo aptitude dist-upgrade [sudo] password for brother: Reading package lists...
