You were using screenlets version which are not supported in ubuntu.

After a reboot my system seems like a good working version of Hardy
(except my nvidia graphics which required a restore a copy of my
xorg.conf which is unrelated I imagine). I have attached the dist-
upgrade files as requested in case this is relevant to another issue. I
haven't tested
