I solved my problem by deleting contacts from both evolution and pidgin.
Another problem is: when jabber contact is present in evolution and you have
two jabber accounts, this contact every time appears in both accounts.

Thank Eugene. I did solve the issue. This was a yahoo account I use
for work. Not sure how, but I disabled my personal Yahoo account and
re-entered the account info for my work yahoo account. After disabling
the work account and removing the settings, and re-enabling my personal
account. The w
I had the same problem and after much fooling around I found on my
system it was caused by the evolution integration plugin.how I
solved the problem
1) delete the ~/.purple folder (after backing up the log subfolder to
keep all my old recorded conversations
2) restart pidgin, setting it back

Ok, so I can't seem to figure out how to manually fix the buddy list
since the only list I found with buddies in them is blist.xml and the
buddies that keep appearing are not in that list... any help would be
appreciated...
