Update with workaround:
If you run
sudo apt-get install boxbackup-server
And just reply on the two prompts with just pressing the key and
then when the installation is complete run
sudo dpkg-reconfigure boxbackup-server
It actually seams like the package is installed :-)

I "solved" this by installing boxbackup from upstream which works fine with the
installation documentation from there
and I added the linue

Hi,
I interrupted (Ctrl-C) apt-get while it was downloading java
confirming this issue for now. I didn't really reproduce it yet, but
setting to confirmed to get this bug on my radar.

I have tried installing boxbackup-server (0.10+really0.10-1ubuntu3) on a
server and a laptop (to see if I could reproduce it on another machinie)
and it failed both times during postinst. Here's the output:
