Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

Hi

After upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy the trackpad on my laptop is behaving
erratically.

Behaviour:
1. Place finger on trackpad - cursor moves to position on screen that matches
where finger placed. E.g Put finger in top middle of trackpad and cursors moves
to top middle of screen
2. Move finger, cursor moves correctly
3. Finger up then down to move cursor again and cursor instantaneously moves to
point in screen matching where finger placed on trackpad (e.g same as 1).
Repeats 1-3 ad nauseam.

It looks like tapping the trackpad resets the cursor position on the
screen.

USB mouse works ok. Keyboard joystick thing works ok as well. This
happened immediately after Hardy upgrade - maybe the upgrade to X 7.3
changed some behaviours ?

Here is my InputDevice stanza from xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Synaptics Touchpad"
        Driver "synaptics"
        Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
        Option "Device" "/dev/psaux"
        Option "Protocol" "auto-dev"
        Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
        Option "MaxTapTime" "0"
        Option "MaxTapMove" "0"
        Option "FingerLow" "0"
        Option "FingerHigh" "0"
        Option "AccelFactor" "0.05"
EndSection

Thanks!
