Confirmed on a fully updated Kubuntu Hardy (recently upgraded from
Gutsy) with Firefox 3 running the Plastik KDE theme.
Installing the gtk2-engines package provided a number of Gtk+ themes.
Then, going into "System Settings", under "Look & Feel" choosing
"Appearance", then entering the "GTK Styles
Confirmed on a fully updated Kubuntu Hardy with firefox 3.

Still the same problems here:
* Focussed checkboxes and radio buttons don't show correctly
* List selection doesn't show
shepherdguy's workaround (2008-08-08) does work but reduces the visual
experience a lot.
I am using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de; rv:1.9.0.3)
Gecko/2008092510 Ubuntu/8.
I think this is more related to the KDE Desktop rendering engine more
than FF itself. I've seen other KDE windows show up showing similar
results of `boxed out radio boxes`. Once I remember where this screen
is, I'll post a screen shot.

I still have the grey check box problem. This is on a Kubuntu 8.04.1 and
Firefox 3.02 (just updated). Its seems this bug is Ubuntu related only.

Due to another bug with FF and flash movies, I launched FireFox from a
command line and keep getting these errors:
(firefox:9529): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion
`G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
Unsure if this has anything to do with it.

After upgrading the KControl module for GTK theme selection disappeared
and I can't seem to set gtk-qt theme, even if I manually select it in my
.gtkrc-2.0 (in attachment).
Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately, I cannot confirm that gtk-qt-
engine_1.1+svn20080816-0ubuntu4~hardy1~ppa1 (which I just got via system
update in Hardy) solves the issue. What still seems to cause various
rendering problems is scrolling on a page. All content that becomes
visible as result of the scrolling action is

Confirming on Kubuntu 8.04.1.
No problem with Firefox 2.x, the bug presented itself after upgrading to
firefox 3.
Selecting a theme other than QT for GTK apps is a workaround, but
degrades the visual experience.

It is listed as invalid in all packages but one because the bug is
actually only in gtk-qt-engine and needs to be fixed there. As you can
see it is confirmed for that package.

I have experienced the same problem after upgrade to Kubuntu hardy.
Firefox 3.0 is still the same. You have to click on a radio button, then
click elsewhere to see the selection. I have all standard default themes
etc. Why is the bug listed as invalid?

As I just found out, the issue seems to be limited to KDE 3.5.9. Under
KDE 4.0.3, which I installed yesterday, the controls are rendered
correctly.

I would like to confirm this one as well. I'm currently on Firefox beta 3.0b5
and have Kubuntu 8.04 installed. I've recently deleted my old profile and then
created a new profile without any addons for my FF3.
That didn't help with this issue.
