This has been fixed in version 3.62-12 . Wims 3.62-13 is available in Intrepid.

Thanks a lot : it works !
But I have another problem : when checking support software (in site
maintenance) povray and maxima are unavailable
However I installed them (with aptitude) and I can use them (they are in the
path)

Confirming this bug.
Identify (gd package) output changed between gutsy and hardy. This
breaks the "makepieces" script.
