OK. Could you run alltray with the -d option and the next time you have
this problem, attach the output from it? In a terminal, for example,
run:

Yeah, sure. The problem seems to be very sporadic.
I installed alltray. From there I went into Thunderbird's launcher (on my gnome
panel) and added the lines "alltray -stask thunderbird" to the COMMAND line.

J. Wood, can you tell us how to duplicate the problem to get Alltray to
spin the CPU? I suspect that it may be a different problem than
originally reported, but would need more information to be sure.

This bug is caused by the (original) clash for bug 106583 and bug
178541, so if using the build I have in my PPA works for you, please

Same problem here with hardy. I also start skype with alltray. Besides, if I
start thunderbird with alltray (alltray -na thunderbird), thunderbird opens but
won't minimize, it starts with open window.
