Thanks for your response; but how can it be that alsa recognizes the
model correctly after a normal boot?
This only happens after a hibernate.
Thanks,
Ger.

I'm not an ALSA expert/developer, so can't help you with that. :-)
Just hope this works for you :-)

Unfortunately; there's nothing that seems to be the right one
$ cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec
Codec: Realtek ALC883
857 ALC883/888
858 3stack-dig3-jack with SPDIF I/O
859 6stack-dig6-jack digital with SPDIF I/O
860
It seems like alsa is not recognizing your soundcard model. I had the
same problems on both my systems and solved them with the instructions
on the page below:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HdaIntelSoundHowto#line-81
In short you need to specify your soundcard model manually.
Hope this
This is what I get if I run dmesg | grep hda:
[ 52.695801] hda_codec: Unknown model for ALC883, trying auto-probe
from BIOS...

Do you have a HDA intel soundcard?
If so you get anything if you run dmesg | grep hda
