Public bug reported: I updated gutsy then upgraded (using the icon top right on the scree that tells you to update) to hardy and was rewarded with a dos like screen initramfs and I think that is a reduced function file system used only by boot setup stuff. I was dead in the water. dmesg>dmesg.txt and grep error dmesg.txt did not give any indicators.
I hit esc in grub and selected the gutsy kernel (hardy recovery gave same problem) and I am running hardy with the gutsy kernel. My system is about a year old. Asus mother board with AMD64, 1 gig ram, 80 gig HD, not sure on type of HD ide, ata or sata. Oh yes I'm talking about Ubuntu Hardy Heron 64 bit upgrade as of 3 or 4 days. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- upgrade gutsy to hardy failed with initramfs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
