Public bug reported:

After I helped my brother from switching to Ubuntu from OpenSuSE because
his wireless driver does work in 2.6.24, but not in 2.6.22, I discovered
that the 2.6.24 introduced a new bug to his laptop. Now his computer
freezes after it has been up for a while. This can be solved by booting
the old 2.6.22 kernel, but that causes the wireless to be not able to
connect. So it's either internet or a working computer.

His laptop is a Packard Bell MZ35-V-057 with an Intel chipset, ATi graphics and
RaLink wireless. I had a similar problem with my computer, but that could be
solved by either updating the BIOS or removing 'powernowd'. The last option
doesn't work for his laptop and for the first we need a computer running
Windows in order to create a bootable device.
I'll add some information, if you need more, please ask.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
