Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 8.04, whenever KDE updates its system configuration, any java
apps (notably Opera and Azureus) get their icons ejected from the tray
and end up an ugly mess in the top left corner of the desktop.  This
happens on installing software using Synaptic, as well as changing
default applications, or anything that calls up the "Updating System
Configuration" dialog.
