I have a similar problem with Intel 3945 (laptop) and Ralink 2500(desktop computer). Each one is in a different computer and both are using hardy. They enter in a loop. But in my case with intel 3945 it never connects and with Ralink 2500 it sometimes connects but for a limited period of time.
