i still got this issue.
I do not know what "full access to private data" means, but i don´t like it.
What informations do you need? It would be helpful, if you could give me
another command, where i can check which informations will be sent, before
giving it online.

Not a fix, but help. I used Hirens 10.1. There is bootable XP there, I
enabled wireless while it was booting using switch on laptop. After that
it was enabled in linux. Hope you add support soon.

Same problem here, i turned off wireless in networkmanager, and now i
can not enable it. It is greyed out. Ubuntu 9.10 does not react on
hardware attempts to enable it, nor on Fn+F1. Any idea? I would
appreciate advice,thanks.

I have a problem.
The last ubuntu system update the wifi deleted settings.
I installed it WICD software.
I have an old laptop apart from what the wifi is a switch and WICD store
the informations well.
I installed it then WICDt FC V5505 onto a laptop, but there the wifi
switch with a hotkey can b

these scripts aren't for use with ndiswrapper, but for native drivers. if you
do not use native drivers of course you cannot use these scripts.
by the way: i tested these scripts only on my own notebook.
why do you use the windows drivers? the integrated ones just work
fine...

install Ndiswrapper
install Atheros Wireless windows driver
tested Cbrmichi 2 scrips, but not good (Directory nonexistent)
iwconfig
lo not wireless extensions.

I can confirm this report. Neither FN+F1 nor the "kill-switch" works. In
Windows, pressing either of them starts a 3rd party tool that allows me to
disable/enable WiFi and Bluetooth.
However, I don't think this is a bug. This notebook simply isn't supported (and
