Public bug reported: Description: Ubuntu 8.04 Release: 8.04 vlc: Installed: 0.8.6.release.e+x264svn20071224+faad2.6.1-0ubuntu3 Candidate: 0.8.6.release.e+x264svn20071224+faad2.6.1-0ubuntu3 Version table: *** 0.8.6.release.e+x264svn20071224+faad2.6.1-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/multiverse Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
In Gutsy with vlc 0.8.6c the following command provided access to the RC interface: cat | vlc -I rc --rc-fake-tty entering the 'quit' command would terminate vlc. In Hardy the same command starts vlc but no commands are read from the pipe by vlc and the only way to exit is either a ctrl-c or killing vlc from another terminal. Please not that this a pointless trivial example to show the bug, the rc interface is being used by freevo. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- vlc RC interface no longer functional when used with a pipe https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
