description was so vague that a lot of people with (likely unrelated)
issues have piled onto it. Flickering with -nvidia is likely to be

this may be related to the nvidia flicker issue.THIS , although said it
was fixed, has not been.
changing the theme [from ORANGE] DOES NOT fix this.
the issue seems to be with compiz, which by default is enable as
'desktop effects'.
is there a permanent way to disable these effects? i like the

I've had this error for some time, I (semi-)fixed by toggling jpeg under
the image loading section in compiz config manager.
There remains some flicker when entering/exiting windows and some redraw
things outside the GL application but it seems to fix the major
annoyance of this.

I am having the same issue on Ubuntu Studio Intrepid Ibex.
I run an older intel 478 chip and an AGP ATI HD 2400 graphics card. Any video

Here are the files you asked for after running glxgears. Dell e1505
w/ATI X1400 using fglrx driver... Of course the GL output stays on top
too (something to do with DRI?) and GL screensavers flicker...

Hi I've been getting this error for a while in Hardy, I'm now running
Intrepid Beta and it's still there.
Basically what happens is: whenever I try and run another GL app on top
of Compiz I get a flicker over my Screenlets and AWN dock. I'm guessing
it's any GL object tho.
