Public bug reported: I'm running Hardy Herron 32-bit Ubuntu, dual-booting on a Sony Vaio VGN-C25 with Vista. None of the problems are present in Vista.
Neither the LiveCD or Hardy partition boots without manually adding 'acpi=off' or 'acpi=ht'. Adding 'pci=nopci' does not allow the laptop to boot. I have no /proc/acpi directory. When running Ubuntu, playing any audio repeats the first half-second continuously until logout. This also applies to the logon 'drums' at the gdm. All battery applets give zero battery power remaining, though the battery works. I have no power management access. Laptop does not wake up from hibernation. Power button does not work. 'Shut down' from within Gnome or gdm does not power off laptop. Wireless (not notification light though), bluetooth and Graphics card all work fine. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sound, battery, power button don't work on Vaio VGN-C25 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228653 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
