I also use zsh, and the Jason Whitlark's link worked. Karmic 64.
After I got it to work, I experimented to see what it would do if
launched concurrently from the command line. Not pretty. The final two
errors were critical (see below).

I got hit with this on 9.10. chsh'ing back to bash is the only work-
around I've found.
