Installing kernel 2.6.24-19 from hardy proposed solved the problem for
me. Can you confirm that that suspend works with the new kernel. If yes,
this bug may well be a duplicate of #226279.

I can confirm this bug. Suspend worked for me with kernel 2.6.24-16 but
stopped working with kernel 2.6.24-17.

I do have the same problem. Worked fine with 7.10 before and now with
kernel 2.6.24-17 I receive the same error.
As far as i could figure out the error has to do with the NIC driver for
RTL8111/8168B which seems to create problems:
