While looking for another reference to linSmith, I found this one. I am the
author of linSmith.
Nobody really informed me about the inclusion of linSmith in Ubuntu, and no one
relays these
messages to me. I'm sorry, but I can't solve problems I don't know about.

I can confirm that Linsmith works on 7.10, but not on 8.04. When the
load impedance is being defined, the "New" button is grayed out on 8.04.
The linsmith version (0.99.3-1) seems to be the same on both Ubuntu
releases.
