You could use the 12.2 release from Debian ``squeeze'' - works without any
problems on Hardy.

couldn't be possible to manage it via the dependencies in packages??? i
installed recently downloaded image of hardy and this problem is there
(i used the image with kubuntu-kde3 environment). If i decide i can
handle it somehow by compiling newer, but there are people who do not
know how.

Yes. Psi 0.11 is simply not compatible with QT 4.4. Replace Psi 0.11
with 0.12 and everything is good, or build Psi 0.11 with QT 4.4.

Another way to reproduce the same bug is to open dialog window and start
typing messages. Very soon (2-3 messages sent and around 100 characters
entered) psi crashes somewhere in libQTGui. Downgrading qt libraries to
hardy solves the problem.

The problem seems to be that some sources were kept enabled during the
upgrade. In particular, pre-released updates (hardy-proposed) has newer
versions of qt libraries and these new versions are not compatible with
Psi.
I solved disabling hardy-proposed sources and downgrading all the qt
packages
More info.
I have another machine with Ubuntu 8.04. On that machine, qt library is
yet version 4.3.4. Psi works ok. On the machine reported qt library is
version 4.4.0, and psi seems to have problems with this new qt version.
