As long as it isn't dumping in $HOME I think we can call this resolved.
(It's doing what's correct for Qt apps to do)

In Hardy Heron Live CD, the Speedcrunch config file is
~/.config/SpeedCrunch/SpeedCrunch.conf
~/.config/ contains other config files (Qt, Gtk, thoggen but also
kmenuedit which is thus misplaced as well)

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. I've installed speedcrunch version 0.9.0ubuntu1 on Hardy
Heron and have been unable to find a config folder for it in either ~/
or in ~/.kde/share/config or ~/.kde/share/apps . Do you know if this
bug still
