Public bug reported: Binary package hint: wacom-tools
I had initially not used the tablet when running Gutsy. Loaded Hardy via the upgrade path. Then because of the Wacom problem and others, downloaded Gutsy (7.10) and did a fresh install. Currently running Gutsy (7.10). Gutsy, clean install. Connected Wacom tablet and rebooted. Pen movement erratic on screen. No mouse movement. Tends to make right-button events. Uncommented lines in xorg.conf after "Uncomment if you have a wacom tablet" - no change dmesg|grep wacom reports.... [ 14.368000] usbcore: registered new interface driver wacom [ 14.368000] /build/buildd/linux-source-2.6.22-2.6.22/drivers/input/tablet/wacom_sys.c: v1.46:USB Wacom Graphire and Wacom Intuos tablet driver As in bug report #33777 and #66646, it doesn't appear to be an X problem - /var/log/Xorg.0.log seems to be okay. I can attach a copy of the log if you wish. Hardy, install via the upgrade path. Wacom tablet was connected during installation and subsequent reboots. Would get system freezes shortly after logging in - in less than 5 minutes. Disconnected tablet and freezes stopped. (Though there would be an occasional freeze after the system had been up for awhile - don't know if this is a related problem.) Machine is a Sony Vaio VGN-A270P with 2 GB memory. ** Affects: wacom-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wacom tablet doesn't work in Gutsy, freezes OS in Hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/230541 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
