Same problem here. Transmission under Xubuntu with compositor enabled;
X-server crashes every time I try to resize the torrent detail window
(which is too small to begin with). No problems when compositor is
disabled.
my system details:
Xubuntu 8.04' Gainward video card with nVidia FX 5200 GPU
Does this happen when the compositor is turned off?

I have the same problem with Ubuntu Hardy. When resizing the details
window and having the visual effects at normal level the x-server
(or once even the whole system) crashes.
