I'm setting status a Invalid because you've solved the problem by
reinstalling the system and Fix commited is not the right status in
this case.

One more thing, I re-installed usplash and I still have detailed status
of my start-up so the only thing now is the desktop-base issue which I
spent several hours on. I will standby and wait for further
instructions.
