Public bug reported: All my video programs stop working when I enable desktop effects. I'm running Hardy amd64 desktop on a Vaio SZ650, the graphics adapter is an Intel 965. Compiz effects look fine. All these programs (cheese, mplayer, vlc, xine) work fine when I disable desktop effects.
Running ]$ cheese The program 'cheese' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 50 error_code 11 request_code 141 minor_code 19) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) ]$ xine test.wmv This is xine (X11 gui) - a free video player v0.99.6cvs. (c) 2000-2007 The xine Team.
