may have been fixed
still broken in intrepid
to reproduce, try:
for i in `seq 1 1000`; do mkdir foobardir; cd foobardir; done
then delete this stack of folders (graphically, right click - move to
trash...), try to empty your trash and observe that your trash is not emptied...

when you now try to empty your trash... nothing happens. the trash is
not emptied and there is not even any
